欧洲杯象棋锦标赛 Xiangqi Europe Cup
The UK Chinese Chess Association and Manchester Xiangqi Association under the auspices of the European Xiangqi Federation, has hosted the 21st Xiangqi Europe Cup Individual and the 20th Team Championship in Manchester, U.K. during 21-22 July 2014.
The tournament venue was at the Glamorous Chinese Restaurant Manchester as shown in the photo above.
There were a total of 40 participants coming from UK, Germany, France, Finland and Sweden. There were 8 UK teams, 3 German teams, 2 French teams, 2 Finnish teams and 1 Swedish team. Various top players and grandmasters of these 5 European countries have come to participate in this tournament.
The Chinese Association of Southampton (CAS) has sent three participants to this tournament. They are (from left to right) Wenbo Zhang, Michael Ng and Michael Ip, who constitute the 4th UK Team.

Above is the tournament result for the top 15 players. The 21st Xiangqi Europe Cup Individual Championship title goes to Nicholas Dang, while the Germany 1 team (Jun Chen and Zhong Xue) took the title of the 20th Xiangqi Europe Cup Team Championship. Michael Ng from Southampton (United Kingdom 4) has managed to get within the top ten of the 21st Xiangqi Europe Cup Individual Championship.
