Chinese Association of Southampton will be having a dragon parade (12:30pm from Hoglands Park), performing a Chinese Dance on the Community Stage (3:45pm), showcasing Chinese Music on the World Stage (5:25pm) as well as performing Taichi, Kungfu and Line Dancing on the open space (6:00pm) on Saturday 15th July 2023 at Hoglands Park, Southampton! Chinese Association of Southampton will entertain everyone at Southampton Mela Festival with Chinese dragon, Chinese musics with guzheng, flute, drums as well as Chinese dance, Taichi, Kungfu and line dancing. They also have a workshop on Chinese calligraphy, Go and Chinese chess from 12:30pm to 5:30pm.
The Chinese Association of Southampton (CAS), has been serving the local Chinese community since 1999. They collaborate with all parties to establish a harmonious and happy community, without regard to gender, political or religious views. CAS is the official Chinese Association at Southampton, and their members come from all corners of Hampshire. They are committed to promoting Chinese art, culture, and traditions, and conveying these values to the public through activities and projects.
At the same time, they focus on improving the quality of life for the Chinese communities in and around Southampton, actively participating in and organising various charitable activities to provide support and assistance to the Chinese community. They also encourage their members to actively participate in activities organised by other cultural organisations in Southampton, promoting exchange and integration between different cultures, enhancing community cohesion and harmony.
