元宵節 2026 Chinese Lantern Festival

📢 Event Update: Chinese Lantern Festival 2026

Due to wet and slippery conditions, and with rain forecast for Saturday 28 February, the outdoor performance originally scheduled at Guildhall Square (1:00p m–1:50pm) will now be moved indoors to Westquay Shopping Centre, with the time remaining unchanged (1:00pm–1:50pm).

Please note that the afternoon programme at Westquay (2pm–4pm) will proceed as scheduled, with no change to the time.

We warmly invite everyone to join us at the indoor venue in Westquay to enjoy spectacular dragon and lion dances, martial arts, music and dance performances as we celebrate the Chinese Lantern Festival in the Year of the Fire Horse together. Come and experience the vibrant and festive atmosphere with us!

From 2pm to 4pm, a variety of cultural workshops will also take place inside Westquay. Come and learn Kung Fu, Tai Chi and Chinese music with us! You can also make your own lantern, paint traditional Chinese fans, and try Chinese painting. Join us for an afternoon of hands-on cultural experiences and festive fun for all ages!

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We look forward to seeing you there!
